How to Verify a Chinese Supplier Before You Pay

Verification is a sequence, not a single check. Each step below removes one specific risk, and each one is cheap compared with a failed container.

Step 1 — entity and scope

  • Get the legal company name (not the shop name) and its registration number.
  • Check that the registered business scope covers the products you are buying.
  • Confirm the bank account name matches the company name — mismatched accounts are the single most common payment fraud signal.

Step 2 — certificates, verified at source

A scan proves nothing. Take the certificate number and check it with the issuing laboratory or on the platform's verification page.

For reference, our own declarations carry the numbers EFW526022843-CG-02+REV 1, CTA25030700203 / CTA25030700205 / CQASZ20250902238E / YHJC202412100039R1 (valid until 2031-07-24) and XDX50238736101701EC (valid until 2031-09-07) — all registered on our Alibaba.com store.

Step 3 — sample and golden sample

Order a sample (we ship 5 pcs with a 7–14 day sample lead time) and keep it as the golden sample. The contract should refer to that physical unit, not to a specification sheet.

Test it the way your customer will: run it for a week, not five minutes.

Step 4 — production inspection

Book a third-party inspection at your nominated lab or agency before shipment, and make payment terms follow the inspection result. Our own order flow ends with QC inspection → shipping & documents, and buyers are free to nominate the inspector.

Payment structure matters as much as checks: a deposit plus balance against inspection is standard; 100% up front is not.
